New Spring Training home sparkles
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Novelty reigns at Camelback Ranch-Glendale (CBR-G), the new spring home of the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers currently under construction approximately 15 miles west of downtown Phoenix.Best described as a campus rather than a complex or a park rather than a facility, the non-traditional look and feel is what fans will notice first of the sun-bathed, 141-acre baseball paradise.
"The team owners and the City of Glendale wanted to create something distinctive," explains Terry Savarise, White Sox senior vice president of stadium operations.
The results are eye-popping and create an aesthetic one-of-a-kind Spring Training environment.
The unique elements of Camelback Ranch-Glendale include: Water feature: A 1,300-foot lake system with river serving the dual purpose of irrigation for fields and site landscaping, and aesthetic enhancement of the campus by physically creating a natural barrier between the two teams' practice facilities while offering
