“Living Green in Santa Rosa” has begun in Santa Rosa County Schools - Santa Rosa Press Gazette
Leadership Santa Rosa Class 22 (LSR 22) will deliver recycling bins and educational materials to all schools in Santa Rosa County on Friday, February 6 as part of its “Living Green in Santa Rosa” project, designed to promote recycling and environmental education to the county’s youth.
LSR 22 members arrived at 8:00 a.m. on Friday at Primerica Financial Services, 6423 Highway 90 in Milton, to begin loading the recycling bins and materials. They worked in teams throughout the day to provide deliveries to all classrooms across the county.
“Our class is proud to implement a project that will have such a strong effect on recycling efforts in Santa Rosa County,” said Leslie Gomez, LSR 22 project leader. “We have spent an incredible amount of time in preparation, and now we are excited to make it happen!”
The “Living Green in Santa Rosa” project is intended to reach out to Santa Rosa County students by increasing the availability of recycling bins in classrooms and providing age-appropriate educational materials to promote the importance of recycling. In addition, the project will help schools earn more money by increasing the volume of their recycled materials.
