[Copy edit file lock - LT] Disneyland Resort Update - MousePlanet
09.02.09
This weekend is designed for returning MouseAdventure teams as well as new teams who crave the thrill of competition. We are offering two challenge levels:
Advanced – teams participate in our third edition of The Enchanted Race, correctly solving each quest before moving on to the next; speed counts! Advanced Division teams solve quests in Disneyland, DCA, Downtown Disney, and beyond. Registration is restricted to returning MouseAdventure teams, and all players must be 18 years of age or older. (MouseAdventure Masters teams are invited to return and compete for prizes in this division). Registration is $110 per team.
Basic – teams solve many—but not all—of the same quests as the Advanced teams, but in a modified Mad Scramble format. This division includes quests inside Disneyland Park and Downtown Disney. Players must be at least 6 years of age and one player on each team must be at least 18 years of age. Registration

Vote of the week: Rain at a theme park
By Robert Niles: The rain is pouring today in Los Angeles, but I suspect you'd still see plenty of folks making the drive to Anaheim, spending the day at Disneyland.
Let's talk today about theme parks in the rain. Typically, rain drives visitors from theme parks like smog from the sky. Folks just don't want to shell out $50+ per person to schlep around in a poncho all day. If you're visiting a park for roller coasters, your day's even worse. Many coasters will not operate in the rain, and on those which do, rain drops become icy bullets, pelting your skin at high speed. Ugh.
But for other visitors... rain means shorter lines, cooler temperatures and a more relaxed staff, likely to "sure, stay on and ride again. There's no one else waiting."
So, which is it for you?

Please help me find Anaheim parks packages?
Sep 02, 2007 by hell hath no fury | Posted in Orlando
My husband and I are trying to plan a fun vacation for the children in our extended family. Their parents are all chipping in, but going on a seperate adults' vacation. Money isn't much of an issue, but we'd like to be wise *haha, like to be*. I have Googled and Asked Jeeves, but just keep getting garbage ads that don't have anything to do with what I want! What we are looking for: Disneyland and Seaworld at least, decent hotel prices, for at least four days, with children. If you have had good experience with any planning sites, or know of any that aren't just hotel ads, please give me links or names! Thank you so much!
I didn't even realize that my question was under the Orlando section! *hangs head in shame* thank you all for your answers and tipping me off to my mistake!
Since there seems to be a Little confusion about where you want to go, Walt Disney World located near Orlando Florida or Disneyland located in Anaheim Ca I will help you by answering for both. Go to www.disney.go.com and click on travel, then select the resort you wish to go to, Walt Disney World or Disneyland, there you will find menues to walk you through planning your vacation. You can select the dates and type of hotel you want to stay at and theme park tickets for the number of days. This will give you an idea of what they have available and how much it will cost.
At WDW there are over 20 resorts to choose from, look at what they have to offer and choose what best suits you and your group
At Disneyland Disney operates three hotels, since money isn't an issue stay at one of their hotels, again see what best suits your group . if you don't want to stay at a Disney Hotel they will also offer good neighbor hotels/motels they do not operate and you can still book a package through Disney.
Once you have an idea of where you want to stay, the dates, and cost give Disney a call at the phone number listed and book over the phone, be sure to ask if there are any specials going on also.
This is the best way to book if you are not on a tight budget and want things done right.
Another option is book hotel through a discount site like cheaptickets.com or hotels.com and buy your park tickets seperatly, I recommend only buying Disney tickets directly through Disney, AAA, USO/Military if it applies or through the State if your a state employee and your state offers them.

Disneyland in Anaheim, CA is made up of just two parks - Disneyland and California Adventure.
Disneyworld in Orlando, FL is made up of four parks and two waterparks - The Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney/MGM and Animal Kingdom. The water parks are Blizzard Beach and Hurricane Harbor.
