A pleasant surpriseLike many other people, I don't jump for joy when I receive a jury summons, but a recent experience may change that.
Our panel was walked from the main courthouse to the auxiliary court at Third and Arrowhead in San Bernardino, and along the way I saw some unexpected sights. Bordering the parking lot on Third Street was a delightful combination of purple, lavender and yellow daisies that were a treat for the eyes and the nose. The landscaping around the auxiliary court is not only gorgeous, but appears to be drought-tolerant as well. I believe the landscaping around the main courthouse has always been a source of pride, and rightly so; but someone has done a great job of extending the beautiful plantings.
San Bernardino makes lots of mistakes, but the courthouse landscaping isn't one of them. It's fantastic! Kudos to those responsible. I only wish we could have more sights like this in our downtown area.
