Public Safety: Mentor pleads not guilty to sex assaults on boys - San Diego Union Tribune
A minister and music teacher who mentored boys in San Diego and Riverside counties was arraigned yesterday on several counts of lewd and lascivious acts with children, authorities said.
Jimmie “Xray” Robinson Jr., 47, of Los Angeles, pleaded not guilty in El Cajon Superior Court to multiple charges of sexual assault involving two minors, Deputy District Attorney Genaro Ramirez said.
Robinson is in custody in lieu of $750,000 bail. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted, Ramirez said.
The El Cajon Police Department began investigating Robinson in September after a boy reported being sexually assaulted, Lt. Tim Henton said. Robinson was working with the boy as a volunteer mentor.
Robinson was linked to the incident by DNA evidence. He was arrested Saturday morning at Living Word Faith Ministries on Market Street in downtown San Diego by members of the U.S. Marshal's Regional Fugitive Task Force, Henton said.
Robinson used his position in various churches to build mentoring relationships with troubled boys, Henton said.
